Welcome to our website! We are currently pleased to introduce ourselves and our organization to the community and the world. For those who don’t know who we are, which would be many, we are formally known as Southwest Community News Network or S.W.C.N.N.  Below is a little more detail on who we are and what is our function as an organization.

What is S.W.C.N.N

S.W.C.N.N is an acronym or an abbreviation of Southwest Community News Network. In South West Community News Network we consist of a small group of teens who participate in news oriented business, overseen by two advisors.

What We Do

We reach out to teenagers in the community of southwest Philadelphia and encourage them to participate in news and technological events. We explain and express our views to our peers about issues in our community; we complete voluntary interviews with important stakeholders in the community,   create and publish web pages, video presentations and soon an internet radio station. We are currently in the process of creating and distributing our very own newsletter. The newsletter will soon be available to people worldwide through our website.

Our Mission

As a 90% youth-led teen organization, our mission is simply to reach out to the teens in the community of southwest Philadelphia through news, technology & media. Because we are a small organization we are always willing to expand, and learn from the success of much larger businesses and organizations.

Our Current Goals

*Gather money from donations and additional funding
*Develop and Create an internet radio station
*Publish and distribute our newsletter
*Get people to join our mailing list

Our Objective

***To become a self running News Network
